Jackdaw

  • 56.901° N
  • 2.3808° W

Introduction

Jackdaw has the potential to deliver around six per cent of the UK’s gas supply – enough fuel to heat the equivalent of 1.4 million homes – at a time when older gas fields are reaching the end of their production.

The field, located approximately 250 kilometres east of Aberdeen, will be among the lowest emissions developments in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS), while supporting jobs and bolstering Britain’s energy security.

The platform is tied-back to the existing Shearwater Hub, using infrastructure already in place to bring gas onshore at St Fergus in Aberdeenshire.
